Sipping this Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series Release #2. A blend of 10, 12, & 14-year Kentucky Bourbons. Bottled at a non chill-filtered Cask Strength of 122.2.

An unmistakable rich Kentucky nose of charred oak, caramel, and ribbons of melted butterscotch leads to a taste that starts bold and warm then evolves to something slightly sweet. That sweetness carries into a nice long finish that lingers but isn't overwhelmingly hot.

My tastes generally lean towards high corn, low rye (or wheat heavy) mashbills for their sweetness and complexity. This BBCo release hits that high corn/lower rye mark and also contains a higher malted barley content than most at ~11%.

I'm really enjoying this Discovery Series #2 and looking forward to comparing it to Series #3 soon!
