Journeyman Election Day Whiskey Release

The determination of the next commander in chief is an important day in America. It’s also a special day for Journeyman Distillery who proudly offers our single barrel Election Day Straight Rye Whiskey. This 80-proof, 4-year-old whiskey sits at 60% rye and 40% wheat on the mash bill with a blend of Midwestern rye and wheat with just a touch of barley added to round out the flavor. This whiskey has been maturing in new white oak barrels for 4 years developing its unique flavor.

Election Day is a fruit-forward whiskey that finishes with a gentle crescendo of spice and pepper from the rye. Depending upon individual palettes, various flavors including banana, vanilla, and caramel may entertain and tingle your taste buds to accompany the ever-present warmth, dryness, and spice that rye brings to the forefront.

There will be less than 300 750mL bottles due to the fact that this batch is a single barrel only. The whiskey was aged in a new white oak 53-gallon barrel.
